Inspired by the Native Americans, the Aurloks have an extremely strong bond with their land. This spiritual link with nature, the elements and animals was to be prominently displayed in the colors, objects and fabrics used.

Naturally, the greatest pleasure and challenge in the Aurlok concept was the visual research on the different Manitous. How would we juggle the diversity of the animal influences while keeping a consistent, recognizable form for this faction? Incorporating these disparate shapes was a real pleasure for us.

From this goal came a subtle mixture that rendered the scenery, behaviors, postures, and fighting techniques into a logical and coherent whole; a whole that firmly grounded the Aurloks in their natural environment and established them as unwilling but important participants in the Alchemical war.
