The association Galleon has the charge of managing the events around the games of Kraken Editions.
Galleon will be the privileged link Between Kraken Editions and the communities, in order to promote and support the events around the Kraken Games.
It will also be a primary point of contact for clubs and shop in order to support them regarding their needs in terms of animations.

Galleon will also be in charge of setting up and managing the different types of tournaments that will exist in the scope of Alkemy.

Encounters are the first type of tournament for Alkemy.
Without any constraint, they are easily set up by a shop or a club, with the support of Galleon.
These encounters will allow the players to meet and fight without necessarily entering the competitive aspects of the official season.

These are tournaments that will have much more constraints than the encounters (in terms of set ups and organization). Their results will be taken into account for the national Alkemy League, which is the ranking of all players of the Season. The start of the first official League will happen in France in September 2008.
The results of the Challenges will be taken into account using a version of the ELO system, which is directly inspired by the Chess ranking. The level of the players will be taken into account before every game and will change after every game, depending on the result and the level of the opponent.

In order to ease the management of such a ranking, Galleon and Kraken Editions associated with T³ (http://www.tabletoptournaments.net/) in order to have some innovative solutions. Thanks to the Tools that will be developed by T³ and the ambitions of Galleon in terms of community gaming, This collaboration will offer an unique interface that will allow the tournament organizers to have simple and efficient tools. These same tools will also allow the players to follow up in real time their evolution and to consult the history of their games during the whole season.

At the end of each Season, Galleon will automatically qualify the 16 best ranked players for the Arena.

There will be four jousts every year. They will be organized with the most active clubs and will allow the players to automatically be qualified for the Arena.
These jousts will be organized at different places in each country in order to allow all players to be able to easily participate to a joust.
Each joust will allow to 4 players to be automatically be qualified for the Arena.

This is the single tournament that will close the Season and that will group all players qualified by the jousts and the national league in order to name the best player !
This one will reach the rank of master of the Arena and will automatically be qualified for the next Arena!

In order to support the community gaming, Galleon will also train the referees that will assist the Challenges and Jousts for the ranking of the league. They will be the referees that are able to answer the rules issues during these events. They will be of two different levels:

In order to become petty officer, a small test on the rules will be required.
To become a boatswain, a small test as well as an interview with a captain is required.

The Captains are the members of the Galleon Team. They can support and assist any kind of event, and will also take charge of the Arena.

For any event support by Galleon, whether Encounter, Challenge or Joust, some doubloons will be provided to the best players of these vents. These doubloons can be used to purchase some goodies, exclusive miniatures and many other things. For the most tenacious players, it will even be possible to get some miniatures painted by the Kraken studio!
